The Boy’s Bedroom

Ever since we moved in (1.5 years ago lol) I have been telling the boys we would get them  bunk beds. We’ve scoured Pinterest and Google for hours, looking for the perfect bed. I also wanted to find something that would be versatile for their ages, since they are 5 years apart, and would also last for the next 20+ years.

About a month ago, I saw these things called “Beddy’s” and fell in love. See, I wasn’t particularly excited about bunks because of the putting on bed sheet situation. But these were the miracle answer! If you haven’t checked them out, and you have bunks, please do so! I’m pretty sure they will change your life. Instantly, I looked up the cheapest set of bunks I could find and ordered them. (Literally that day.) When they came, I realized that my decision had been made in haste, as these bunks were VERY cheaply made and I’m certain would have disintegrated once my boys had them in their possession for 2 hours. So I returned them. Then I did a little more research on some good quality bunks and found the ones we now own. Jody and I put them together in 2 hours with only an Allen wrench. Had we had a drill with an Allen wrench head (is that even what you call it???) I’m sure it would have went even faster. We are super pleased with the way it turned out and how sturdy it is.

I had planned on doing an accent wall in their room with shiplap, but with the location of the wall (unseen unless you walk into their room) I decided to just paint it white instead. MUCH cheaper, and also still turned out the way I wanted. I needed something lighter than the gray so that the brown wood color on the bunks would POP. Mission complete.

I will link as many sources as I can below, but for real, the bed and the comforter set have me SO happy. The boys even make up their bed every day because to do so, you only have to zip. Amazing.

Thanks for taking the time to check out our new room!

I forgot to talk about this amazing piece of work my husband made. It literally took him about 10 minutes to finish it after a quick trip to Lowe’s to get the materials. Now Henry can hide away his Nerf weapons so easily! When the door is open, no one even knows they are back there! Win, win!
